ACE – American Council on Exercise
ACE is the leading provider of certification and education to the professional, commercial and retail fitness department. ACE offers certifications for personal training, group fitness instructors, lifestyle and weight management consultation and clinical exercise specialist. Each candidate is required to pass a three-hour exam.

ACSM – American College of Sports Medicine
ACSM credentialing provides the best measure of competence of Sports Medicine and health and fitness professional for clients and employers. It is the most rigorous in the industry, requiring the highest level of knowledge and skill, establishing the standard for all other certifications. This certification is considered to be the “Gold Standard” of personal training certifications. Exams are practical and written with basic interpretive skills in patient lab reports/study analysis.

CHEK – Corrective High-performance Exercise Kinesiologist – Paul Chek
This program is designed to produce the most highly trained exercise therapists, strength and conditioning specialists. This program consists of four blocks of intensive modules lasting from five to nine days. The exams are taken at the end of these modules and last three to four days. Candidate must pass extensive written and practical exams and complete a written thesis as well as submit a video presentation.

NSCA – National Strength & Conditioning Association
The NSCA’s certified Strength & Conditioning Association Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA- Certified Personal Trainer- NSCA-CPT) certifications are the only nationally accredited certification programs in the fitness industry. Awarded only after passing a rigorous and challenging exam administered by an independent examination service, the credentials are widely respected and internationally recognized.
