The River Valley Club maintains a comprehensive Pilates Studio and program complete with Reformers, Cadillacs, Wunda Chairs, Barrels, Spine Correctors, and Towers. Teaching offerings include Large Group Matwork classes and Small Group Training both on the mat and on the equipment. Personalized Pilates training can be done one on one, as a duet or with trio training. Training programs are tailored to clients' specific needs and fitness goals.

adrienne.jpg Adrienne Fisk, Pilates Coordinator & Pilates Specialist -Teaching people to discover the joy of movement through Pilates is a continuation of my career in dance and theatre. My goal is to expand each person’s movement repertoire, to challenge the beginning through advanced student, and restore strength and mobility to the injured. My background includes an MFA Degree in Dance from UC Irvine, 25 years of university teaching in dance and theatre plus a certification in Pilates with an emphasis in neuromuscular fitness and therapeutic exercises. I enjoy the focused work of Small Group training and the in-depth challenge of Pilates Personal Training. My personal interests include cross country skiing, walking, painting and playing with my grandson.

emilyanderson.jpg Emily Stein Anderson, Master Pilates Personal Trainer - I am a STOTT Pilates certified instructor, having completed advanced coursework in Reformer and Matwork, and graduate coursework in Injuries and Special Populations. I’ve studied at both the Pilates Center of New York and Club Xcel with STOTT Boston. While in NYC, I also taught and extensively practiced yoga, receiving my National Yoga Alliance certification from Atmananda Yoga and Holistic Center. I love exploring movement from an anatomical and biomechanical perspective. II enjoy helping clients to prevent injury, recondition imbalances, and challenge themselves to their full potential.

Grace Walthour, Pilates Personal Trainer & Programs Administrative Assistant - I am a STOTT Pilates certified instructor in Intermediate Reformer and Matwork; I have been teaching Pilates since 2002. Pilates has helped condition my body for activities I enjoy like hiking and rock climbing. When first started taking Pilates with Adrienne in 1998, I was merely looking to improve my ballet technique. Now, not only has my dancing improved, but my self confidence has as well! I have danced with Albany Berkshire Ballet and performed lead roles with City Center Ballet of Lebanon, I am also currently working on my business degree at Hesser College in Concord. My vision is not only to enable my clients to obtain their physical goals, but to surpass their original expectations.

cindyweb1.jpg Cindy Summer, Master Pilates Personal Trainer & Pilates Manager - I have been in the fitness industry since 1984 and became a certified personal trainer in 1992. My interest expanded to working with the whole person, so I became a Pilates instructor in 2002, a certified Wellness Coach in 2004 and moved on to an advanced Pilates certification in Core Dynamics in 2005. I have a passion and zest for life! I am committed to helping others develop a belief in unlimited potential and positive change focusing on the mind body connection.

bethedminson2.jpg Beth Edmiston, Phyiscal Therapist & Pilates Personal Trainer - I graduated from the University of Florida with a physical therapy degree in 1999 and received my Pilates certification from Polestar Education in 2000. My background includes treating patients with orthopedic dysfunctions and pain. I have experience working with patients and clients who wish to enhance their personal fitness and performance. Twice a year, I teach Pilates for Rehabilitation at the University of Southern Maine to rehab professionals. Besides working one on one with clientele, I enjoy teaching group classes using the reformer and mat.

The Pilates Method is a physical movement program designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body. Pilates exercises focus on postural symmetry, breath control, abdominal strength, spine, pelvis, and shoulder stabilization, muscular flexibility, joint mobility and strengthening through the complete range of motion of all joints. Pilates requires complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. Its guiding principles are whole body health, whole body commitment, and breath. Pilates has proven itself invaluable not only as a fitness endeavor but also as an important adjunct to professional sports training and physical rehabilitiation of all kinds.
