FITKIDS PHILOSOPHY
It is the goal of FitKids childcare to create and maintain a warm, nurturing environment that supports the naturally paced emotional, social, physical and intellectual growth of each child. In our program, learning is integrated into the daily routine.
We believe that playing should not be separate from learning, rather, playing is learning. We are committed to implementing some of Piaget’s, Vygotsky and other theorists research on child development into our program. We believe in Piaget’s educational approach that children have the opportunity to explore and experience a variety of activities. And we believe in Vygotsky’s theory of meeting each child at their own developmental level.
FITKIDS CURRICULUM
FitKids Childcare implements the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD approach in supporting the developmental needs of the children in our care. We use the Creative Curriculum as a guide when creating lesson plans, holding parent/teacher conferences and organizing our classrooms to provide a variety of activities to meet each area of a child’s development.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Located inside a fitness facility sets FitKids Childcare apart from other area childcare programs. On a daily basis children in our care have access to the Club’s Yoga Studio, climbing wall and open studios. The children enjoy gross motor activities daily no matter what the weather. Through the use of RVC’s facility we are able to encourage team-building activities, large motor coordination and promote healthy lifestyle choices. Children have the support of our FitKids Childcare staff to encourage, motivate and promote exercise through various planned activities.
